Transition to operations Systems Engineer

Location: El Segundo, CA & Remote Work

The Opportunity

Do you have a Space System Transition to Ops Engineering background? Are you looking for an opportunity to apply your technical skills to our nation’s Space Systems? If this sounds like you, come join Space Force Analytics (SFA) and a team of scientists, engineers, and space system acquisition experts that are developing the next generation of remote sensing satellite and ground systems.

  

As a Transition to Operations (TTO) Engineer, you will guide the program through the critical shift from development, integration, and test into operational acceptance and long-term sustainment. You will work across government, FFRDC, and contractor teams to ensure space and ground systems are operationally ready, supportable, and aligned with user needs. Your leadership will help shape operational concepts, readiness criteria, and transition plans for high-priority military space programs. Our Mission Areas include Weather, Missile Warning, Missile Defense, and Tactical ISR Systems. The work may include 1 or 2 days per week on site and occasional travel to various contractor sites and U.S. Government installations.

You Have

  • 6+ years of experience supporting large-scale national security space missions in systems engineering and integration
  • 5+ years of experience leading or supporting Transition to Operations (TTO) efforts for DoD space or ground software programs
  • Experience with space operations or ground segment operations, including test, checkout, and operational acceptance
  • Experience with DoD acquisition programs, stakeholder engagement, and program or project management
  • Knowledge of systems engineering management and processes, including life-cycle integration, requirements development, verification and validation, test, and integration
  • Ability to communicate clearly and build collaborative relationships with government clients, FFRDCs, and contractor teammates
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate initiative, and contribute to the national security mission
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field
  • Secret clearance

Nice if You Have

  • Knowledge of SPF 13-604
  • Master's Degree
  • TS/SCI clearance
